7 Prominences today already!

7 Prominences today already!

Despite the fact we’re at the solar minimum, there still seems to be quite a large number of prominances and plumes to be seen on the Sun.  If you have a H-Alpha telescope you’ll be able to check this out for yourself.

No sunspots again today, this is the 16 day in a row.  So far there has been 88 days this year without any sunspot activity.

Happy Birthday Galileo – 445 today

Galileo Galilei was born on 15 February 1564. He was one of the first people to observe sunspots using a telescope.
